PROJECT
Virtual Serenity is the world’s first location-based VR experience designed as a digital empathy engineering experiment.
It combines immersive visuals, sound, and synchronised virtual environments to explore collective human experiences.
Following its Berlin premiere, the production moved to Stockholm, bringing together international artists, developers, technical partners and a local production team.
The Stockholm edition involved four live experiences, including two consecutive live gigs, requiring coordinated technical operations, equipment management and audience support.
CONTRBUTION
My work focused on turning an ambitious international VR production into a functioning live event in Stockholm.
From securing the venue and organising the local team to managing technical logistics and consecutive performances, I coordinated the practical elements needed to deliver the experience.
The project combined creative production, international collaboration, technical operations, and hands-on event management.
KEY FEATURES
-
Venue Acquisition: Scouted and secured Sergel Hub, a central Stockholm venue, for six days completely free of rental charges, significantly reducing the production's venue expenses.
-
Production Planning: Coordinated schedules, local resources and operational requirements for four live experiences, including consecutive performances.
-
International Coordination: Worked with international creative and technical partners to align production requirements, logistics, and local preparations.
-
Team Leadership: Managed and trained a team of 15 volunteers responsible for supporting participants, preparing equipment, and assisting with headset operations.
-
International Equipment Logistics: Coordinated the transportation of 300 Meta Quest 2 headsets and other technical equipment, from and to Brussels and Berlin, including headset preparation, charging, distribution and collection, ensuring equipment could be turned around between experiences.
-
On-Site Operations: Managed practical production requirements, team coordination, and venue logistics during the event.
-
Production Adaptation: Helped translate the operational model established in Berlin into a production suited to Stockholm's venue and event format.
