ROLE

UX STRATEGY · DESIGN RESEARCH · CREATIVE PRODUCTION
Project: EU-funded Creative Europe cultural heritage initiative
Organisation: The Point Labs, Romania

PROJECT

Immersive ECHO explores how emerging technologies can make European cultural heritage more accessible, engaging, and meaningful for diverse audiences.
The challenge was to bridge the gap between ambitious immersive concepts and the realities of cultural institutions: different audiences, limited resources, accessibility requirements and technical constraints.

CONTIBUTION

As a creative producer at The Point Labs, working within an international, multidisciplinary consortium, I helped establish the research and design foundations for developing inclusive, practical immersive experiences. My work focused on translating complex research and institutional requirements into clear design principles, actionable frameworks and evaluation methods.

KEY FEATURES

  • UX research and synthesis: Analysed audience needs, behavioural patterns, accessibility barriers and institutional constraints to inform experience design.

  • Audience modelling: Developed eight behavioural personas and a three-layer framework covering Access, Engagement and Validation.

  • Experience strategy: Translated research findings into design criteria addressing interaction, onboarding, participation, sensory pacing and meaningful engagement.

  • Partner research: Developed a structured survey to map cultural assets, venue conditions, technical capabilities, accessibility requirements and operational readiness.

  • Design documentation: Authored and co-authored project frameworks and the D2.1 Needs-Driven Immersive Design Brief, translating research into practical guidance for consortium partners.

  • Validation methodology: Developed structured approaches for evaluating concepts, documenting evidence, identifying design failures and guiding iterative improvements.

  • Cross-disciplinary alignment: Prepared workshop materials connecting audience research, creative direction, technical feasibility and institutional needs.

OUTCOME

Built a shared design foundation that lets consortium partners move from research to concept development and prototyping.

The resulting frameworks provide practical tools for evaluating immersive concepts against real audience needs, accessibility requirements, and deployment conditions, before committing to production.

Rather than designing technology for its own sake, the work establishes how to design experiences that people can understand, participate in and meaningfully connect with.
