ROLE
CREATIVE DIRECTION UX & UI DESIGN NARRATIVE DESIGNER STORY & GAMEPLAY
BRIEF
Epiroc IDCC (industrial design customer center) a prominent productivity partner in the mining, infrastructure, and natural resources sectors, specializes in innovative drill rigs, rock excavations, and construction equipment. These machines are sizable and expensive to transport and exhibit.
Propose (ideation and prototype) an innovative and sustainable method for presenting these machines efficiently to customers.
CHALLENGE
Large, intricate, and costly machines pose accessibility challenges for prospective buyers. Shipping expenses and the need for expansive exhibition spaces make showcasing difficult. Simultaneously presenting multiple machines is also unfeasible.
First-time VR headset users.
SOLUTION
Since many users will be experiencing VR headsets for the first time, I crafted a virtual control panel resembling a laptop trackpad. The design features a straightforward UI that ensures accessibility for users of all levels.
To underscore the excellence of Epiroc's machinery, I envisioned immersing users in a cutting-edge, eco-friendly city of the future. The futuristic headquarters, inspired by Zaha Hadid's designs, serves as a haven for potential buyers seeking respite from industrial routines. Additionally, it creates an appealing environment to captivate the interest of the younger generation. The Virtual HQ not only offers an escape but also functions as a space to acquaint users with machine usage through simulation.
